Windsong
Horse & Carriage started off as a dream and became a reality
in 2004.
What's so unique about Windsong Horse & Carriage is that
owner and operator Gordon Sturm has made a personal contribution
to every aspect of the business, from being involved in adding
the finishing touches on the handcrafted fringe top surrey carriage,
which was built to replicate an antique; to the training of
his horses Big Dan (seen at left
with owner, Gord Sturm), Rudy, Napoleon
and Duke, who pull the carriage in city
street, rural road, in crowded urban areas, and winding through
secluded narrow trails.
Windsong Horse & Carriage made its debut in the summer and
fall of 2004 at special events
around Meaford, Thornbury, and Owen Sound. Events like the Summer
Affair Art Fest in Meaford, the Applefest in Thornbury, the
Owen Sound Celtic Festival, and, - the icing on the cake - the
opening parade of the International Plowing Match where Windsong
Horse & Carriage chauffeured MPs from Simcoe, Bruce-Grey
and Wellington Counties.
These are just a few of the events which featured the services
of Windsong Horse & Carriage. Windsong has had the pleasure
of attending numerous parties - for companies, childrens
birthdays, and for family reunions. Windsong Horse & Carriage
created its unique and romantic Trail Lunch along the Parkhead
Trail in Owen Sound and were prominently featured in a Chamber
of Commerce tourism video for Meaford, Ontario.
In 2005, some of the events Windsong Horse & Carriage was
featured at were the MAUD Antiques Show and the Summer Affair
Art Fest in Meaford, the Owen Sound market, and a one-day tour
of Casa Loma, Toronto, Ontario.
In late November and into early January, Windsong Horse &
Carriage offers tours through the Festival
of Northern Lights in Owen Sound, an old-fashioned experience
that has been growing in popularity since 2005.
We hope you'll consider Windsong Horse & Carriage for your
wedding, your
community
event, or any time you want to add a nostalgic flair to your
life!
